JLR appointed Crux to help shape its new North American engineering hub in Portland, Oregon, its first major commission for the brand in the region. Initially engaged as Global Guidelines Ambassador, Crux’s role quickly expanded to include concept design, client-side coordination, and design sign-off.

Crux was appointed to lead the design of a major new laboratory environment for Jaguar Land Rover in Bangalore, supporting the continued expansion of its engineering capability in the region. Design leadership and technical coordination are led from the United Kingdom, working closely with JLR stakeholders and locally appointed delivery partners in India.

Crux was appointed to design a state-of-the-art laboratory facility for Firmenich, bringing together research, testing, and client facing environments within a single, high-performance setting. The ambition was to create a world class laboratory environment that supported scientific excellence while providing a refined experience for visiting clients and collaborators. As the project progressed, it became clear that the selected building presented significant constraints that fundamentally affected feasibility. Crux’s role therefore evolved to include rigorous assessment of building suitability alongside design development.

Following the successful delivery of JLR’s initial Bangalore workplace, Crux was appointed to lead the design of a new specialist laboratory environment within the same building. Crux was appointed to design a specialist laboratory environment for Intellian within a highly constrained building, where limited natural light and fixed technical requirements shaped every design decision. In addition to the internal lab, the project included direct integration with an external rooftop satellite testing area, requiring careful coordination between interior planning, building infrastructure, and roof access. The project demanded an integrated approach that treated the internal laboratory and the external testing environment as a single, connected system. The internal laboratory needed to support detailed research and testing activity, while the rooftop environment was essential for live satellite connection and validation

Crux was appointed to design a series of specialist laboratory environments as part of Jaguar Land Rover’s first major engineering expansion in Bangalore. At the point of appointment, these laboratories were not intended to be the first of many phases, but rather a contained requirement supporting an emerging local engineering team. While the wider project included workplace functions, the laboratories formed a critical technical foundation and were delivered within a live, multi tenanted commercial building.

Following the successful delivery of the Phase 1 laboratories, Crux was appointed to lead the design of a significantly expanded laboratory environment on the 5th floor of the same building. By this stage, JLR’s Bangalore operation had evolved into a major engineering centre, requiring increased technical capacity and more sophisticated laboratory infrastructure. Unlike the first phase, this project commissioned as part of a growing laboratory programme.
