Our Services

Clarity, confidence, and momentum in project delivery.

Crux Design Studio is a design led consultancy creating intelligent, high performing environments that deliver measurable business value. We integrate strategy, architecture, interiors, technology, and engineering from the outset, shaping clarity early so complexity, cost, and risk are reduced. The result is work that is visually distinctive, operationally robust, and commercially effective, giving our clients confidence, pride, and lasting return on investment.

What Sets Us Apart

Our services are built around a disciplined methodology aligned to the RIBA Plan of Work. We focus on what matters most at each stage, so projects progress smoothly, responsibilities remain clear, and design intent is carried through from strategy to site.

Strategic from the Start

1

We begin by deepening our understanding of how your teams work. Then, we align design with your ambition, operational needs, and long-term direction.

Our REVIT modelling and coordination workflows ensure seamless collaboration, accuracy, and delivery confidence across every stage.

Global Design Frameworks

4

We assemble the right mix of specialists across design, engineering, compliance, and infrastructure to deliver fully integrated workplace environments.

5

We adapt to your timeline and priorities without pressure. Unlike design-and-build firms, we protect the integrity of the design from the start - ensuring clarity, alignment, and a smoother delivery. Many design-and-build teams partner with us to lead the complex early stages so they can focus on execution.

6

We develop workplace playbooks or guidelines that promote consistency, speed, and quality across locations, making approvals easier and outcomes more predictable.

Our Methodology

A clear structure that supports confident decision making and consistent delivery. A clear structure that supports confident decision making and consistent delivery.

Strategy

We establish clarity before design begins. Business objectives, building selection, operational needs, budget, and programme are aligned into a clear brief that removes ambiguity early.

We define what is required for pricing and delivery. Design intent is clearly documented and coordinated so procurement is accurate and downstream risk is reduced.

We provide continuity as projects move into construction. Through review, advice, and client support, we help ensure decisions made early are carried through delivery.

Architecture & Interior Design

Stage 3 design delivery with oversight through construction.

Crux Design Studio is a design led consultancy creating intelligent, high performing environments that deliver measurable business value. We integrate strategy, architecture, interiors, technology, and engineering from the outset, shaping clarity early so complexity, cost, and risk are reduced.

Crux provides architecture and interior design services through RIBA Stage 3. From Stage 4 onwards, we remain closely involved as design guardian and client advocate. Our strength lies in assembling and integrating the right specialist partners for each project - spanning engineering, cost, technology, branding, and delivery - ensuring informed decisions, clear communication, and a coherent design vision from concept through to completion.

ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN

Crux delivers architecture and interior design services through RIBA Stage 3, providing the clarity and coordination needed to move confidently into delivery.

We develop well resolved, build ready designs that balance ambition with realism. By aligning brief, budget, and technical considerations early, we provide a clear platform for procurement and construction.

From Stage 4 onwards, Crux remains involved as design oversight and client champion. We support the client through procurement, construction, and handover by reviewing proposals, responding to design queries, and advising on design intent as the project progresses.

A key part of our value lies in how we assemble project teams. Crux brings together trusted specialist partners tailored to each project, including engineering, cost, technology, building code, furniture, content, branding, and delivery expertise. Partners are selected for the stage, scale, and context of the work, ensuring the right input at the right time. Specialist partners are typically appointed directly by the client or as part of the wider consultant team.

Clients value working with Crux because it feels considered and collaborative. Decisions are informed, communication is clear, and the design vision remains coherent as projects move from concept to completion.

“You will be proud to learn that we’ve received so many glowing comments from our customers (such as Amazon and other top shelf companies) on the design and functionality of our Uxbridge office. The team are thriving there and we’ve been asked many times to showcase the office spaces to prospective tenants looking to move into the Charter Building. Bravo and thanks again for your great vision.”

WORKPLACE STRATEGY & CHANGE MANAGEMENT

Great workplaces begin with a clear understanding of people, culture, and ambition.

Crux’s workplace strategy and change management service helps organisations define what success looks like before design begins. We work closely with leadership and stakeholders to translate business objectives, ways of working, and future plans into a clear strategic brief.

This foundation allows design to move forward with purpose and ensures change is understood, supported, and embraced.

Workplace Strategy & Change Management

We align people, space, and decisions before design begins.

We work with leadership and stakeholders to define a clear vision for success before design begins—aligning business objectives, culture, and future ways of working into a robust strategic brief. This upfront clarity ensures that design decisions are purposeful, change is clearly communicated and supported, and the resulting workplace performs as intended—enhancing experience, enabling performance, and giving organisations confidence as they evolve.

When we hired Heather and Crux, we knew that she was a smart and stylish designer. However, my anxiety was about Care City’s circumstances and requirements. We didn’t have a large budget, and we also did not want a plush or luxurious office. I need not have worried. Heather was extremely responsive to our brief and priorities, and curious to understand our team, organisation and work as deeply as possible, to create a space right for us. Heather rolled with the process of us changing our mind or simply not knowing the answers she needed, in a way that supported us to learn and build confidence through the process."

- Jon Harrison, Intellian

Crux creates global design guidelines and playbooks that give organisations clarity, consistency, and confidence at portfolio scale. Built to be robust yet flexible, our guidelines allow for local context while simplifying decision-making, empowering teams, and enabling confident, scalable growth.

HOW THE SERVICES WORK TOGETHER

A wooden table with a conical base, holding three stacked white books, next to a wooden armchair in a room with wooden walls and a large window allowing sunlight to cast shadows.

A connected approach from strategy to site.

Workplace strategy establishes a clear foundation. Architecture and interior design translate that clarity into a coordinated Stage 3 design. Global guidelines and playbooks ensure the same principles are applied consistently across a wider portfolio.

Through design oversight and client championing from Stage 4 to 6, Crux provides continuity and confidence as projects move into delivery.

Together, this creates a calmer, more predictable experience for clients and project teams, and a better outcome for the people who use the spaces.

This is how Crux helps organisations move forward with clarity, confidence, and control.
