Crux was appointed to support the next major phase of workplace expansion for Jaguar Land Rover in Bangalore, responding to continued organisational growth and increasing operational complexity. Design leadership and strategic oversight were led from the United Kingdom, with a locally appointed design team responsible for detailed design and delivery in India.
This appointment reflects a shift in delivery model, with Crux acting as a strategic partner and coach, supporting quality, clarity, and long-term capability building within the local team.
Jaguar Land Rover’s continued growth in Bangalore required a workplace that could support both day-to-day operations and long-term talent development. The brief included open work settings, meeting environments, training space, secure storage, and a range of collaboration areas, all within a single large floorplate.
Alongside spatial requirements, JLR sought to evolve how projects were delivered locally. The objective was to retain global standards and strategic clarity while strengthening in market design capability for future phases.
Crux established the strategic framework for the project, defining workplace principles, space planning logic, and performance priorities. This early clarity allowed the local design team to take ownership of detailed development while remaining aligned with global expectations.
“What Crux delivered went beyond a single project. The framework they put in place has become a repeatable model for how we approach regional delivery, ensuring consistency, quality, and confidence as we continue to scale.”
— Heather Saunders, Founder | Principle
Key Features
UK based design leadership providing strategic oversight and coaching
Independent appointment supporting a large-scale workplace expansion
New delivery model empowering a local design team with structured guidance
Workplace planned to support flexibility, training, and collaboration at scale
Clear review and governance process protecting design integrity
Scalable approach enabling future regional delivery independence
Throughout the process, Crux provided structured review, mentoring, and guidance, supporting decision making without undermining local leadership. This approach ensured the workplace remained coherent, functional, and consistent while allowing the delivery model itself to evolve.
The resulting layout supports a range of work modes and can adapt as teams, technology, and ways of working continue to change.
The primary challenge of this phase was maintaining design integrity while shifting away from a traditional lead designer role. Crux addressed this through clear governance, regular review cycles, and shared reference material that aligned all parties around expectations and quality thresholds.
Weekly design and technical reviews ensured issues were identified early and resolved collaboratively. This balance of trust and structure allowed the project to progress confidently while building capability within the local team.
“This project demonstrates Crux’s ability to evolve its role to meet client needs, moving from direct delivery to strategic leadership and capability building.”
— Former Client
Scheduled for completion in 2026, the expanded workplace is expected to deliver a highly efficient and contextually tailored environment for JLR’s Bangalore teams. The project demonstrates how global standards can be protected while empowering regional teams to lead and deliver independently.
Beyond the physical outcome, the project establishes a repeatable delivery model that supports scale, resilience, and long-term partnership.
This project demonstrates Crux’s ability to evolve its role to meet client needs, moving from direct delivery to strategic leadership and capability building. By maintaining UK based design leadership and supporting local execution, we help clients scale without diluting quality or intent.
The earlier Crux is involved, the greater the positive impact we can have on governance, alignment, and delivery confidence. Early engagement allows not just better spaces, but stronger teams and more resilient delivery models.
At Crux, success is measured not only by what is delivered, but by how effectively knowledge, trust, and capability are transferred over time.
