This project involved the creation of a new commercial workplace that fully embraced Kensington Mortgages’ bold brand identity while supporting day to day operational performance. Crux was appointed to design and deliver an environment that balanced strong visual character with clarity, functionality, and long-term usability.
The brief required confidence in decision making, a clear point of view on brand expression, and a workplace that could support a wide range of working styles within a single cohesive setting.
Kensington Mortgages has a strong and recognisable brand characterised by bold colour and energy. Early discussions explored whether this palette should be softened for the workplace environment. The outcome was clear. Rather than dilute the brand, the workplace needed to express it with confidence while remaining practical and comfortable for everyday use.
The challenge was to translate a vibrant brand into a high performing workplace that supported concentration, collaboration, and operational efficiency across diverse teams including sales, call centre, finance, and human resources.
Crux worked to establish clarity early by aligning brand intent, workplace performance requirements, and spatial planning decisions. Colour and visual identity were treated as strategic tools rather than decoration, applied with discipline to support wayfinding, zoning, and spatial legibility.
Crux coordinated design, furniture, and spatial planning as a single integrated process. Bespoke furniture solutions were developed to support the brand language while ensuring durability and suitability for daily use.
“Bright, brave, and built to work.”

Teams benefit from clearly defined zones, appropriate acoustic separation, and a layout that supports both individual focus and collaboration.

“Bold colours, smart zoning - proof that personality and productivity can share a desk.”
— Former Customer
The earlier Crux is involved in a project, the greater the positive impact we can have on planning, design decisions, and the likelihood of a successful built outcome. Early engagement enables brand, performance, and budget considerations to be aligned from the outset, creating environments that deliver lasting value. At Crux, success is measured by how effectively clarity is established early and carried through to a completed environment that clients and their teams are proud to use.
The office opening marked a milestone for the business, creating a sense of pride and ownership among employees and reinforcing the organisation’s culture through space.
