Policies & Ethics Statement

Ethics and Responsibility

At Crux Design Studio, we believe that design is inseparable from ethics. We are committed to conducting our work responsibly, transparently, and with integrity for our people, our communities, and our planet. The following principles guide every decision we make and every relationship we enter

Human Rights

We uphold and promote internationally recognised human rights, grounded in the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the International Bill of Human Rights. We are opposed to all forms of discrimination, harassment, or exploitation. We expect every member of our extended network, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and partners, to honour this commitment

We maintain a zero-tolerance stance on forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking, and require all our collaborators to respect and demonstrate the same standard

Occupational Health and Safety

The safety, health, and wellbeing of everyone who works with us is a non-negotiable priority. We maintain rigorous health and safety policies, regular risk assessments, training programmes, and continual review to meet or exceed statutory and industry standards.

We also recognise that mental health is integral to overall wellbeing, and we seek to foster a work environment that is supportive, psychologically safe, and attentive to stress, burnout, and work life balance.

Labour Rights

We are committed to upholding fair labour practices across our operations. This includes, but is not limited to

  • Compliance with applicable labour legislation in all jurisdictions where we operate.
  • Payment of fair wages and benefits.
  • Reasonable working hours and rest periods.
  • Respect for freedom of association and collective bargaining.
  • Prohibition of discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Clear processes for grievance, feedback, and dispute resolution.
  • We expect our supply chain and project collaborators to adhere to these principles as well.

Environmental Protection

Design inherently influences our ecological future. We integrate environmental stewardship into every project, from site planning and material selection to energy performance, embodied carbon, water use, and waste reduction.

We pursue continuous improvement in sustainable design practices, aiming to exceed regulatory benchmarks and reduce our environmental footprint. Our goal is to create spaces that enhance human experience while protecting the natural world.

Information Security

We treat information as an asset and protect it with care. Our approach is based on the principles of confidentiality, integrity, and responsible access. We use secure systems, password protection, and controlled file sharing to ensure that client, partner, and internal data remain safe.

All team members understand the importance of handling information responsibly and follow clear internal guidelines on data management and communication. Any concerns or potential breaches are reported and addressed immediately, with corrective actions taken to maintain trust and security.

Data Privacy

We collect, use, store, and share personal data only when necessary, lawful, and transparent. Our data privacy practices comply with all relevant legislation, including the UK Data Protection Act and GDPR.

We ensure that:

  • Individuals are informed about how their data is used
  • Consent is obtained where required
  • Data is stored securely and anonymised or minimised where practical
  • Third parties processing data on our behalf comply with our privacy standards
  • Requests for data access, correction, or deletion are handled promptly

Anti-Corruption and Integrity

Integrity is central to our reputation and relationships. Crux Design Studio maintains a strict zero tolerance policy on bribery, corruption, fraud, or unethical inducements.

We require all employees, consultants, contractors, and partners to act with honesty, transparency, and accountability. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed. We provide clear reporting channels for any concerns and ensure that no individual faces retaliation for raising issues in good faith.

We also conduct internal due diligence and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential corruption risks in all business activities.
